Litter Free Leeds (LFL) are a number of individuals and groups of volunteers in and around the Leeds area who go out to collect litter.
Personal data held by LFL is protected by UK and EU law under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

LFL relies on services provided by third parties to store and manage the information it holds in order to carry out activities in an efficient and secure manner. Those third party services area lists below. When selecting the services it uses, LFL exercises due diligence to ensure that the service supplier is reputable and has appropriate measures in place to protect the information we manage through them.
Social Media
Where LFL uses social media, mainly Facebook, LFL cannot access any personal data other than freely made public on that platform by the user. Other users of the social media platform may be able to view your activity relating to LFL depending on your privacy settings. LFL does not submit lists of its members to Facebook or directly invite people to become members. LFL uses X/Twitter, Instagram to promote the activities of LFL.
If LFL wishes to provide your personal data to any other third parties, LFL will make this clear when the data is obtained or will contact you asking for consent prior to sharing the personal data.
LFL will hold and process the personal data of its current members during their membership period. It will erase this personal data if the member cancels their membership, or if the member fails to be active for a period of over 2 years.
Personal information held in order for LFL to carry out our activities will be held until LFL no longer has legitimate reason to hold it, or the individual withdraws their consent.
Should LFL cease to exist due to dissolution, all personal data held by LFL will be erased.
No personal data is held on paper. Personal data is collected for certain community roles - for bag holders (volunteers who distribute our purple branded bags) and group organisers.

Members who would like to stop receiving general news email updates (newsletters, event notifications, etc) can click on an “unsubscribe” link at the end of the email.

If you want to withdraw consent to us using any information, for example, in relation to our collection of the number of bags issued or collected, please contact us at info@litterfreeleeds.co.uk.
LFL uses GoDaddy to maintain and host its website. GoDaddy may use cookies to assist usage of specific sections of the site.
LFL may provide links to other external websites on its own website, social media streams and email newsletters. LFL is not responsible for the content of these external websites which may change over time.
LFL may occasionally conduct research and survey our membership. This research will be conducted in a way that means an individual will not be identifiable from the data collected. There is never an obligation to take part in or complete these surveys/research.
